Our catruns!

The building of the first catrun has begun! My husband Kim built it almost all by
himself,
while I was at work. Thanks Kim!

The wood was painted black so it would fit with our house.

All done, just the cats that are missing.

Opening Ceremony!

The water fountain is very popular!

I wanted to be able to split the catrun in two, which is why I built a wall. Then I realized
that I also needed to build a staircase, so it was easier for me to go into the little catrun;)
The cats can go out through the window when the door is cloosed. And if I want to use
the whole catrun as one, I just open the door. In the corner you can see a small house
that I built, there are two big litter boxes for the cats.

Now I've put up some new boards for the cats to go on and shelves to lie on. Also put
stone on the
ground, it was so dirty inside. The grass quickly turned to mud in our
rainy climate.
The cats have free access to the yard through the cat door in the
basement window.

Climbing roses start to grow up, soon the whole side covered resulting in a lovely shade
when the sun shines.

Catrun number three has begun. This will be my first totally own project;)
The stones are in place and all the boards sawn to the right size.

The frame is finished!

All shelves and boards are in place!

The cats go in and out through the window.

A little room for windy days.

Done! And I'm so proud to have built it all by myself :)

I use a padlock on all doors so that the neighbors' children can't open and the cats can sneak out.

I want the catruns to be related. Therefore, my husband welded a tunnel for the cats to go through.

In the summer you can hardly see the tunnel.

I can close it with a door at each end, when I want to split the catrun.

The construction of the catrun number four has begun!
Now I'm really good at building runs;)

This catrun has a door to yard number three, which can be open or closed when necessary.
I had decided to have grass in this one, but as you can see later, I regretted it and put stone on the ground;)

At the other end is a "window" the cats can pass through. There I built a little door,
which also
can be closed if the need exists.

Now I have started building catrun number five, under our balcony.

A small house to get inside when the cats want to sleep for a while.
Under,
and protected from the rain, you can see a large plastic box
which they use as a litter box.

These disgusting animals caused big problems for me!

Killersnails just LOVE cat food and invaded the catrun!
Therefor, I had to invent a snail-free food bowl;) Works perfectly!

Now is the catrun completed! All are related to one large catrun, but you can divide it so it
will be
five small ones.
Perfect when you have many cats that all like being outdoors but do
not
always allowed to be together, because of females in heat
and things like that.

On this picture you can also see our balcony, which also has net and glass for our cats.

Our balcony!

Putting the network on the balcony was the first thing we did when we moved to our house.
The cats have free access to the balcony through a cat door in the bedroom door.

Have built a small house that the cats have their litterbox inside, then I will not have
any litter on the floor and it can't rain in the box.

Home made scratching pillar.

Our former catrun!

Even when you live in an apartment you can have a yard for the cats.
Only your imagination and the landlord is the limit;)
